2 / 5	Don't bother.... M. Evans - 7 May 2008 If you already own the 4 disc boxset released a few years ago, there really is no point in getting this. Yes, the extras are different but not as extensive or interesting as those on the 4 disc set. Even if you don't own the films, I would advise either getting the earlier 4 disc box set, or maybe waiting till later in the year when they're bound to release another boxset containing the new film.
4 / 5	Paramount Pictures... S. Hurford "WorkingClassHero" (The Shire) - 15 May 2008 ...must be having a laugh! Temple of Doom is still the rubbish cut version! The runtime on the actual case of this release lists this film at 114 minutes, the 2003 case lists it at 112 minutes. Closer inspection of the films themselves by placing the discs in the player show they run for EXACTLY the same amount of time. If you are looking for the uncut version of this film, DO NOT be fooled by the listed run time of this DVD. It does NOT clock in at 118 mins. This film was originally attacked by the BBFC waaaaaay back in 1984 and trimmed by 66 secs for excessive violence. As it is now 24 years down the line one would assume this film would get a 12 certificate. After all, that's why the Motion Picture Association of America created the PG-13 rating in the wake of Temple, as barely got it's PG cert over there. In the US, the film is uncut and STILL rated PG. Whatever has happened we consumers have been left high and dry again! It appears either Paramount have made a mistake, or are trying to pull a fast one and get completists like myself to purchase this film in GOOD faith based on the extended run time. I for one am very disappointed and intend to take this as far as I can to get some answers from Paramount Home Entertainment UK Ltd. That said, the films themselves are cracking. But in agreement with the post below this is another example of double dipping - just like the farce with the 3 and 4 disc Star Wars sets. And let's not forget, one man is responsible for both... Mower "digginjim" (UK) - 6 May 2008 These aren't new prints, the sound hasn't been remastered and the extras from the original boxset have not been transferred over... is it really worth getting this set?? Or shall we all just wait until the super duper five disk blu ray release around xmas of 2008...? this is just another example of studio double dipping....
5 / 5	Perfect Entry for the New Indy Ford Ka (Planet Earth) - 22 May 2008 This may not be the perfect choice for Indiana Jones afficionados but there is quite a few billion people around who never had the chance to see the movies before. These three film rank among the best adventure movies of the last half century (OK - they ARE the best ;) so don't think too long but grab at the opportunity to be really prepared for the last part of Indiana Jones' adventures. You get a handful of new (and not so new) extra material thrown in but it is the movies that really matter. And they are so fresh and full of live that it is hard to believe it has been a while since Indiana Jones seemed to have retired for good.... Read Full Review »
