| 5 / 5 | HD 555s Amazing
Mr. AJC Taylor "http://www.conversion-matters.co.uk" (Bath, UK) - 22 December 2005 These headphones are so good it's unbelievable! They're seriously comfy. They have nice padded earcups that cover your ears completely and the headstrap is easily adjustable to fit any size head. I'm personally using them for online gaming and music. The clarity in music and the sound in games is unparelled. You should seriously consider buying these.. 5/5. |
| 5 / 5 | Extreme comfort with a beautiful sound
R. Murphy "broken_angel" (UK) - 20 July 2006 I deliberated for a week or so between these and the closed back HD 280 - in the end I went for the HD 280 as I was concerned about the the outside noise levels with these open back headphones. A couple of weeks after I just could not continue wearing the HD 280 all day or even a few hours - too tight, totally enclosed and warm the ears up. I tried these headphones in the shop and was instantly won over by the comfort and sound so I bought them. My fears with leaking sound in the office were unwarranted - sure they leak sound but I just listen lower levels and it's fine. The headphones are just great - I use them all day and for watching movies on my laptop and feel no discomfort from prolonged use. The sound is just incredible. Highly recommended. Do yourself a favour and get a damm good pair of headphones if you use often enough.... Read Full Review » |
| 5 / 5 | Phonetastic
Media monkey (Hampshire UK) - 25 July 2007 These headphones are extremely sensitive. You will find youself turning the volume right down to give tolerable levels, and as the volume goes down, so does the noise, so this is the clearest purest reproduction I have heard with amazing detail. They are also extremely comfortable. Yes the sound leaks a bit and if you care about this perhaps you should look elsewhere, but it won't wake the neighbours and otherwise these are fantastic value for money. |
| 4 / 5 | Excellent only one downside
J. L. Usherwood "Buzz" (Solihull UK) - 15 September 2006 The headphone quality is amazing the sound is without doubt to a high quality, very comfortable and for long periods of time, they do not start to dig in to your head after a while like some headphones. The only down side is i listen to a lot of music at my desk and if there is a tune i love, well it is only natural to pump that volume up, and the outside noise can be heard by people around me, but that is taking the volume up to a good level. A definite purchase though despite this VERY minor detail.... Read Full Review » |
| 5 / 5 | High end at a bargain price - Sennheiser HD555
J. Wallace (London, uk) - 12 January 2008 This is really my first pair of what I consider to be mid range, extremely well priced cans. I paid £48 for mine through Amazon, although I've seen them for £99.95 (the SRP) elsewhere and I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of sound reproduction. Granted they do leak an awful lot of noise if you plan on using them in the office, but the clarity and sensitivity of these cans means you rarely have to increase the volume to colleague offending levels. The bass is crisp without being wallowly, the mid range punchy and the high end and stereo seperation quite amazing for earphones costing less than £50. It's hard to imagine how much better the top of the range HD650's can be for another £120 quid. If I'd have know that mid priced headphones could sound this good and be this comfortable for extending listening, I wouldn't have bothered spending nearly 2k on high end stereo speakers. Get a set, you won't regret it. Having now listend to a friends Sony MDR-XD400's I'd say the Sennheisers are the better option.... Read Full Review » |
