If you are looking for a small(ish) LCD Tv for a kitchen or bedroom you will not be disappointed with the 20s3000 series. I did loads of research & had a shortlist of Samsung, LG & Philips 19" sets & this 20" Sony. If you are going down the same route, go to a retailer first & listen to the sound quality before you make up your mind. These thin LCD sets dont have anything like the sound quality of traditional CRT TV's, there just isn't enough space to get decent speakers in. The Philips & Sony have some fancy electronics to enhance the sound quality & it does seem to work. The Samsung is the smallest (and some may say best looking) set but like the LG, sound quality is poor with no decernable bass, even after adjusting the sound quality in the shop. The 19" Philips is enormous thanks to its wide screen surround. It's substantially taller and only marginally narrower than the 20" Sony which seems the best sound and a brilliant quality picture - but you do pay for it at the checkout. I was also concerned about dead or locked pixels. I needn't haver worried, the screen is perfect. If overall size is important, go to each manufacturers website & check the measurements as sometimes the quoted hight includes the built in stand, sometimes it quotes the hight without the stand. You'll find that the size of the stand does vary considerably between sets. At time of writing, the best deal was at Amazon, and delivery was brilliant. Placed my order Thursday evening, set delivered 10am Monday - on standard free delivery. Excellent! Hint, dont automatically go for the black 20s3000. The dark silver 20s3020 won't show dust like the black sets do, particualarly in a bedroom where case static will act like a dust magnet! Larry (UK) - 31 December 2007 This TV has everything I need and will do for a good few years, seeing as it's HD ready and has the all important HDMI socket, the 20" size is just right for my medium sized living room. The picture quality is excellent, blacks are black no nasty pixelation, no ghosting. Watching a bluray film using my my PS3 was simply stunning and even on normal non HD broadcasts this TV shines, above all my previous TV's. It was really easy to setup, I like the intuitive menu system and the fact it comes with a strap so you can secure the TV to a stand to stop it from toppling over, a nice touch I thought, another top quality product from sony, and top service from amazon.... Grover Netzer (UK) - 7 February 2008 Bought this TV from Amazon after much research in Department stores and recommendation from the Gadget Show. Very happy with the set,excellent picture quality with good array of inputs on the back. The built in Freeview tuner appears to be more sensitive than my Human Tuner. Two nice features worth noting are: 1. Ability to set the timer for a connected Panasonic DVD recorder from the TV EPG. Very handy! 2. Ability to connect a PC/laptop. A. Sharad "Snow Dogg" (Buckhurst Hill, Essex United Kingdom) - 5 April 2008 I bought this TV recently for use in our bedroom and have been utterly delighted with it. The size is ideal for my room, though in a room much larger (mine's about 17' by 15') you may want a slightly larger screen. Setup was really simple & even though we have fairly weak digital TV signal in our area, the Sony has locked on really well & we get consistently great pictures. Picture quality is right up there with the best TVs I've seen, and the the sound is just great too. Our old CRT screen had speakers fitted at the sides, pointing left & right - this SONY has them just below the main screen which means the sound is projected towards you & you don't need to have it lound to hear clearly. Overall sound quality is fine for a bedroom TV - everything from News to music shows sound great.
